Monotone is a software version control system. A manual (written by M. Thoma, T. Arbetter, and P. Holland at BAS) includes a discussion of how monotone works in the POLAIR context. It also has some tips for good monotone usage.

A user can edit the manual. It lives in the database polair_code.db served by bslpsdp.nerc-bas.ac.uk in the branch uk.ac.bas.POLAIR at uk.ac.bas.POLAIR/doc/monotone_manual.tex.

To visualize monotone ancestery, the monotone-viz package can be used.
